Sci Rep. Integrin-linked Kinase is Essential for Environmental Enrichment Enhanced Hippocampal Neurogenesis and Memory

  Environment enrichment (EE) has a variety of effects on brain structure and function. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is essential for EE-induced hippocampal neurogenesis and memory enhancement.
Pharmacol Res Retinoic acid ameliorates blood-brain barrier disruption following ischemic stroke in rats.

  The intact blood–brain barrier (BBB) is essential in maintaining a stabilized milieu for synaptic and neuronal functions. Disruptions of the BBB have been observed following ischemia and reperfusion.

  Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) plays an important role in neuronal survival, neurite outgrowth and synaptic plasticity by activating tropomyosin related kinase B receptors (TrkB).
